You will need:

  • Sea salt
  • Black Salt
  • Candles
  • Cedar incense
  • 10 drops of lavender essential oil
  • A bathtub

Start running the water in your bath and light up your candles and incense. Call upon the elements to guide and protect you in the spell you’re about to perform. Then invoke your deities and ask for their divine help in a successful spell.

Once you have your bath water, pour 1 cup of sea salt in the water and state:

“With this salt, I cleanse my body, mind and spirit from all forms of negativity that wish to harm me”

Stir the salt in the water until resolved clockwise while saying “cleanse, cleanse, cleanse”

Then the next ingredient added will be your black salt (just three splashes will do) and state the following:

“I banish any negative energy and entity that ensnares me in its grasp, you are not welcome in this space and I hereby revoke your grasp. I command you to leave!”

Stir in the black salt counter clockwise while saying “banish, banish, banish…”

Then add the 10 drops of lavender oil and state:

“I add lavender to bring the clarity and calm my mind desperately seeks. To quiet the mind and bring me peace.”

Stir clockwise while saying:

“Calm, Calm, Calm…..”

“I sit in the water of calm and peace, no negativity shall come to me. I melt away my troubles from time, in hopes that calm and clarity be mine. I say this once, by the power of three, my will be done, so mote it be”

Then get into the tub and visualize all that negative funk melt away with the bath water.

Enjoy my brothers and sisters.

-Spelled bath salts in your night bath to lift mental and physical exhaustion of the day. I recommend a recipe with frankincense, geranium and rosemary in it as they aid in purification of body, spirit and soul but you can customize for your needs. You can do SOOOOO  many things in the bath. Imma do another post on this.

-Rose hip tea before bed to bring prophetic dreams.

-Rosemary/athame placed beneath the pillow to protect from nightmares and psychic attacks.

-Incense of lavender. Or a candle dressed in lavender oil. Or lavender fragrance oil on your pulse points. Whatever is more feasible to you. Lavender, promotes peaceful sleep.

-Keep a dream journal. Meditate for a few as soon as you wake up and record everything you recall in the journal for reflection.

-Do a card pull for the day ahead. Tarot or oracle. Your choice.

-Brew tea in the morning. I like green tea. Its simple. Its available. Most importantly, its cheap.

-The house you live in is an entity too. Clean it up a little. It can be something as simple as vacuuming, floorwash, dusting windows, changing curtains, letting in some sun, hanging wind chimes, vastu or feng shui, sprinkling infused water, smudging…..you get it.

-Water your plants. Talk to them. Sing to them. See if anyone is sick and needs attention. Plants like that. Bond with your plants and they will aid you more.

-I like to shower in the morning  (I’m Indian and terrified of my mother. Also. Hygiene.) Visualize the water infusing you with its flow and clarity to help you flow and be clearheaded throughout the day.

-Eat breakfast with intention. You are what you eat. Do not put trash in your tummy. It messes with your frequency. I like to stick to apples and milk/coffee.

-Wear clothes with intention too. Colors are a massive force in our lives and aid in our purpose. Wear red for passion, confidence, sensuality and resoluteness. I like to wear at least one red item everyday.

-Nail polish, if that’s something you’re into. You can incorporate color magic by doing this too if you do not wish to wear colored attire or if its not your style.

-Put a fragrance oil/itr (pronounce:EEH-tr) on you with. I like to put jasmine on me. It corresponds with divination, sensuality, confidence and luxury.

-Jewellery. Period. Rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, anklets…intention people. Intention is your best friend. For my broom-closeted witches, this is an excellent way to mask your crystals in plain sight. Crystals are pretty and jewellery goes unsuspected. Amethyst ring? Lapis studs? Pearl bracelet? Obsidian pendant? Crystal magic!!!

-Enchant your makeup if you use any.

-Put pre-energized yantras/glyphs on the inside of your laptop bag/school bag/work bag to promote clarity and fluidity in work.

-Enchant your pens/brushes/pencils/tools of trade for productivity and efficiency.

-Carry snacks with you. Dried drupes, berries and fruits are fulfilling and keep you in touch with earth. Also, cuz they’re snacks.

-Eat your food.

-When you get back home, shed you’re clothing and visualize all the weight of the day going with it.

-I like to have a post-work day shower too. Again, visualize the water carrying away your woes with it.

-Brew your post-work tea. Chai is a very good option. I brew it in milk and add a host of powders/roots to it. Nutmeg, cinnamon, mace, grated ginger and cardamom are my favorites in any season. They promote positivity, good energy, relaxation, healing and peace.

-Listen to your favorite music.

-Do something artistic. Maybe paint, sculpt, write, sing out loud, freestyle….whatever you like.

-Read and research. I like to update by grimoire everyday. I, like many other witches, believe that my grimoire is a living entity and needs attention in order to flourish. You don’t have to do a lot. Just research for a couple minutes and write down your notes in it. It don’t have to be fancy.

-Bathe

-Tea! Again!

-Incense

-Sleep my little birdie.

misandry and reverse racism are not real because men and white people are already in a position of power and any type of hatred towards them isn’t meant to demean them and is a form of protest from the people they oppress

can we do away with the narrative that ted bundy was this charismatic mastermind?

people who knew him growing up said he never fit in, was socially disconnected and weird, and constantly tried to frame himself as better than he was.

he wasn’t constantly wooing women—he had few girlfriends and one his victims who survived his attack literally described him as creepy. his college sweetheart dumped him for being pathetic, directionless, and insecure. the women who wrote him love letters had clear issues with men and were warped into finding “bad boys” attractive.

his victims were not won over by his charm—he either broke into their homes at night, attacked them when they were alone, targeted children, or played the part of a cop or man with a broken arm in need of help loading something into his car. he used violence and subterfuge, not charm, to hurt women and girls.

one of his lawyers described him as unpleasant and blatantly self obsessed. if you listen to his interviews, he sounds blatantly fake, like someone trying too hard to seem intelligent, normal, and likable. it’s a facade and not even a good one.

the media created the image of a charming man because he was a white, average looking, conservative dude and that automatically put him in a positive light in their eyes.

(Some) Ways to Celebrate Imbolc 🌞🌿🕯✨

🍋 wake up early and enjoy the sunrise!! the sun continues to grow higher in the sky, the spring is coming. appreciate and honor that fact if you’re able.

🍋 take a cleansing (ritual if you please) shower! whether you use scent corresponded soaps + body washes or just envision negativity being washed off and positivity being brought in, starting the day by cleansing away bad energy is a fabulous way to start in my book.

🍋 SPRING CLEANING! this is a perfect time to declutter and cleanse your space. get rid of anything and everything you don’t need and even go through your room/house with sage or incense if you wish!

🍋 going with that ^, rearrange your altar if you please! create a fresh start by adding some colors/correspondents of the sabbat. whether you prefer more of the pastel pinks, yellows and purples to represent the growing flowers and spring days to come, or more reds, yellows and oranges to honor Brigid, the Goddess we tribute to on this day, there are so many possibilities to spruce it up!

🍋 take a nature walk!! this is alwayssss on my to do list when celebrating a sabbat, but i feel like it’s extra special on Imbolc. take time to look for signs of spring, flowers beginning to bloom, leaves starting to bud, snow slowly melting away. the sun is coming, better and brighter days are ahead.

🍋 LIGHT! CANDLES! Imbolc is also known as St. Brigid’s day and Candlemas, it is the absolute best time to light some candles, turn on the lights and open the blinds to let in the sunshine!

🍋 do some art!! Brigid is well known for her connection to arts and crafts and poetry, so let your artsy side shine. your creativity is at its peak this time of year, don’t let those juices go to waste!

🍋 make a Brigid’s cross, a corn doll, or even a candle inspired by the spring! wrote a poem, create a playlist, honestly anything that makes you feel closer and more connected to the season, Imbolc and Brigid.

🍋 do a tarot spread connected to Imbolc! i adore sabbat themed spreads, i feel its a great way to get an idea of your life currently and allow yourself to take some time to grow, heal, balance, etc.

🍋 FOOOOOOD. dairy, bread, meat and seeds are very popular for this sabbat but please feel free to create delicious dishes that fit to your needs! i plan on making some honey bars or citrus cookies as i have more of a sweet tooth.

🍋 if you do cook something and would like to honor Brigid/the season/your personal deities, put some aside and offer it to them!

🍋 leave out SAFE AND ANIMAL FRIENDLY food for the local wildlife! as animals slowly start to reappear, honor them with a tasty treat. please always make sure it is safe before hand and don’t leave anything that could harm the earth or those around you! fruits, vegetables and seeds are your safest bet.

🍋 create a vision board or a goal list!! i always think of new beginnings + opportunities when i hear of Imbolc, so now is a wonderful time to set some positive goals for yourself!! put this year in perspective and use what you created to work into your craft. need more love? healing? want to work on your focusing? now you know what spells/rituals/potions you should be working on.

🍋 PLANT SOMETHIN! it’s still quite cold where i am, but if you’re able plant some flowers or herbs! start up a beautiful garden to take care of this year. if it’s too chilly outside, start an indoor garden! there are plenty of herbs/succulents and such that can still manage to thrive with enough sunlight, water + love.

🍋 reflect. the winter months can be hard for all of us, so take this time to look back for a minute and realize that light and positive times are ahead. please don’t dwell on the past, but rather see how far you’ve come and plan on how you want to better yourself in the upcoming year.

i hope this post allows you to become inspired for your Imbolc celebrations. i would LOVE to hear what you personally do to celebrate this incredible sabbat if you’d like to chat about it 💛 blessed be my lovelies!!

Tips for the Dark Half of the Year

Winter is coming quickly. A lot of people see this time of year as bleak, depressing, or just boring. Here are some tips to stay attuned to nature during these months.

❄️ Go outside. Even if it’s cold, the trees are bare, and the only colors are muted and dull. We often think that summer is the only time to enjoy the outdoors—the only time to hike, meditate outside, etc. In winter, there are no lush green trees or balmy days filled with sunshine and the smell of flowers. While summer is intoxicating, winter is a time to contemplate and reflect. Go outside. Feel the cold. Feel the mud and the dead grass and the chilly wind. Listen to how quiet it is. Understand that the dark half of the year is a time of silence, stillness, and death. It’s natural to have an aversion to these things, but take some time to sit down and just listen. Breathe. Feel the reality of silence and death around you. It’s a sobering experience, but also a very insightful one. If you have any fear of death or quiet, now is the time to go sit with those things as they appear in nature and just meditate with them.

❄️ Eat cozy foods. It’s cold outside—warm up with hearty soups, stews, homemade bread, and root veggies. Warm spices and hot drinks will keep you feeling grounded. This is a wonderful time of year to practice kitchen witchcraft—focus on coziness, family, protection, and rest.

❄️ Study magic! The Dark Half of the year is devoted to self-reflection, rest, and contemplation. Snuggle up indoors with a fluffy blanket and devote some time to studying magic and witchcraft with a hot cup of magically-brewed tea.

❄️ Think spirits are sleeping along with all the greenery? Think again! The Dark Half of the year, in many cultures and spiritual traditions, is considered extremely spiritually active. Deities like Odin, Berchta, Hekate, and spirits such as elves and ghosts are very active this time of year. You can choose to honor them if you want, or practice various spirit-working techniques. If you’re into necromancy or divination, this is a wonderful time of year for those things.

❄️ Be kind to local wildlife by installing things like bird feeders outside your home. We modern humans may have an easy time of it in winter, but animals struggle to survive during these months. Any bit of kindness will be much appreciated.

❄️ Nurture your fire energy. During winter, it’s easy to internalize the cold and take on its characteristics—sluggishness, sleepiness, a foggy-headed feeling. Some crystals that are great for winter include golden rutilated quartz (aka Venus hair), citrine, carnelian, obsidian, and garnet. All of these crystals contain a strong fire element as well as offer grounding qualities, mental clarity, and protection.

❄️ Go out and forage for magical ingredients! Melted snow is extremely purifying and can be incorporated into spells for purification and cleansing. Icicles can serve as temporary wands, especially in spells that require a strong water element. The ash from bonfires (or hearth fires) can be used to make black salt. Fallen branches can be crafted into wands. There may be nothing growing this time of year, but you can get creative and still find magical ingredients in unexpected places. Just be respectful and don’t collect from places where it’s illegal!

This is by no means a comprehensive list—these are just some ways I’ve celebrated the colder months. I hope they’re helpful in any way!
